FRIDAY, 15th AUGUST.

Same.—Several witnesses were examined. There was proof that Allison was the worse for liquor; that lie was capable of transacting business. It appeared that Allison, who bad been drinking elsewhere, drew money from (lie defendant, and spent some of it there* and at another house. He was, it also transpired, frequently requested to leave the house. Several witnesses were examined. The defendant made a statement showing that Allisoirpersisted in staying. The bench said that no doubt some crossswearing was shown in the action. It was stated that Allison was induced to enter. This was, on the other side, denied. The man, however, appeared to be either suffering a recovery, as it was called, or was in a state of maudlin intoxication, going from one house to the other. The bench then adverted to the heinousness of the offence of supplying intoxicated persons with liquor. There was no proof that the man had been detained against his will. He had been, on the other hand, requested and advised to go to his work. —Case dismissed. A. Eichardt, horse straying in street. —Dismissed. W. L. Davis, two horses straying.—Fined ss, and costs 5s (id. * [ G. Archer, two cows straying—Fined ss, and 5s 6d costs. SATURDAY, 16th 'AUGUST.

The offence consisted in the drawing of a glass of beer without permission, and in the use of abusivo language.—Fined 40s and costs. A. Clyne and C. Darlington were fined 10s each for being drunk.
