WARDEN'S COURT.

Queenstown,—October 4th, 1872.

(Before R. Beetham, Esq., "Warden.) Gye v. M'Lean.—An application for dissoln tion of mining partnership. Mr Macgregor for complainant. The case was placed at the bottom of the list, and ultimately settled out of court. James Scully applied for residence area a i 25-Mile, Lake. G. Grant objected to the. application, on the ground that he had, the previous day, purchased by auction a store, stables, and garden, sold in the intestate estate of the late Robert Bennett, all situated upon the area applied for, and therefore thought ne was entitled to the right of ground. Mr Turton, for defendant, pleaded that Bennett had neither a business license, or miner's right; nor was he ever possessed of certificate for a residence area of the ground. Mr Worthington, Registrar, made an examination of the books for over a year, but could find no trace of any document of this kind having been issued to Bennett. Mr Turton stated that the applicant would not object to the removal of the buildings, but would ask that they be not allowed to be placed between the site applied for and the beach. The Warden said he had no power to interfere in that direction. The objector had not pegged out the ground, as required by the regulations, while the applicant declared he had. The objector therefore had no claim to the ground by virtue of property he said he had purchased. —Application granted. Applications for agricultural leases were disposed of as follows: —W. Warren, 20 acres, Shotover survey. —Granted. J. T. Goodsir, D. Smith, and J. W. Robertson—Adjourned for one week.

In mining cases there was no appearance of the following applicants : —J. Kapatzo, Ah Pow and others, Ah Moon, W. Boyle, J. Hall, Ah Chee, and J. M'Farlane. The following applications were granted:— W. Macdonald, 1 acre, Arthur's Point; E. M'Caffrey, two dams, Arthur's Point ; E. M'Caffrey, residence area; F. Smith, water jace, Boundary Creek.
