WAKATIP DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Boardroom of the Institution on Saturday last. The members present were—Messrs R. Beetham (President), G. M. Ross, R. Anderson, A. Eichardt, H. Carstens, W. M'Conochie, M. J. Malaghan, and D. M. Mackay (hon. Secretaiy). The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Accounts were passed for payment as follows: —Salaries—£42 Is B<L Ration*— F. St. Omer, £4 12s 3d; 6. Atkins, £ll 138 sd; F. M' Bride, £3 5s 6d; Whittingham Bros., £8 12s 9d. Stores and Furniture — Whittingham Bros., XI 7s 3d ; J. Hallenstein and Co., 2s; E. Samuel, £3 3s. Fuel and Light—Hallenstein and Co., £l* 17s. Medicine and Medical Comforts — Kempthorne, Prosser and Co., £7 9s 3d; Whittingham Bros., £lO 4s. Incidental—£ll3s4d. Total, £96 Js sd.

A letter was read from the District Engineer, stating that he had forwarded his report regarding water supply for the Hospital to the Engineer of Boads and Works on 20th ultima The matter was ordered to stand over till next meeting.

Tenders for supplies for ensuing six months were then opened, and, after some consideration, the following were accepted: Bread—Woodrow, Bd. per 4b. loaf.

Firewood—J. W. Robertson & Co., 255. and 28s. per cord. Rations.—Meat—Geo. Atkins, beef, 5d.; mutton, 3d ; huns and bacon, Is. per lb. Milk—F. M'Bride, s(d per quart. Tea, ftc.—L H&llenstein and Co. Fuel and Light—L H&llenstein and Co. Medical Comforts—Whittingham Bros. Stores and Furniture „ „ Bedding and Clothing—L H&llenstein and Co.

Tenders were also opened for repairs to the Institution, as per plans and specifications. The following offers were read: John Turner £269 Alexander Boyne 279 £289 Hetfernan and Tyree 285 320 G. 0. Clayton 280 10 290 Campbell and M'Donald ... 245 252 Proposed by Mr M'Conochie, seconded by Mr Anderson, and carried—" That the tender of Messrs Campbell and M'Donald be accepted at £252." - On the motion of Mr Malaghan, seconded by Mr Carstens, Mr John Turner was appointed inspector of work. The meeting then adjourned with a tote of thanks to the Chair.
