Entrance, 3 sovs. Wakatip Jockey Club Plate, Of 100 sovs: open to all horses. Three miles: weights for age Entrance 5 sovs. Hurdle Race, Of 30 sovs. One and a half mile heats: only open to district horses: welter weights. Entrance, 2 sovs. Hack Race, Of 10 sovs: entrance, 1 sov, added. SECOND DAY. Ladies' Purse, Of 30 sovs: only open to ?.ll district horees. One event: one mile and a half. Gentlemen riders: weights for age. Entrance, 2 sovs. Publican's Pubse, Of 100 sovs: open to all horses. One event: two and a half miles: weights for age. Entrance, 5 sovs. Steeple Chase, Of 80 sovs: open to all horses. About four miles, over jumps and ditches: welter weights. Entrance, 5 sovs. Trotting Race, Of 20 sovs.' Four miles: weights forage. Entrance, 2 sovs. THIRD DAY. Booth-Holders' Purse, Of sovs. One mile heats: weights for age. Entrance, sovs. Consolation Handicap, Of sovs, being a forced contribution of five per cent from all winning horses: one mile and a half. Entrance, sovs. Rules and Regulations. The Rules of the Otago Jockey Club will be strictly enforced. No person to enter or nominate a horse unless he be a subscriber of not less than three sovereigns to the funds. Moreover, no person to eater or nominate a horse not his bona fide property, unless the said subscription of three sovereigns be paid for the actual owner also, under forfeiture of any race such horse may win. The word " district" shall mean the boundary of the Wakatip district, as defined by the gold fields department. No entry will be received for any of the races except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. The words "district horse" shall mean horses that have been in the district from 15th December, 1863. , All entries to be sent in previous to 8 p.m. on 12th January, 1864, addressed to the stewards at Powell's Family Hotel, Queenstown, in sealed envelopes, containing entrance money, qualification money, full description and age of horse, and color to be worn by the rider, under penalty of two sovereigns for neglect of same. The winner of the Wakatip Jockey Club Plate o carry 7 lbs extra for any other he may run for. Jockey costume insisted upon. Dogs will be destroyed on the course. Five per cent deducted from the gross amount of all stakes, for expenses. 872
