At Home and Abroad.—' What pretty girls! said a gentleman, as two charming girls (sisters) passed them. * Yes,' said a lady; ' pity they have such horrid tempers; they fight like cat and dog at home; and yet, when they go out, they dress alike, and look as if butter would not melt in their mouths.' Shaksperian.—A would-be tragedian was in the habit of getting drunk. A friend remonstrated and appealed to his professed love for his wife as an inducement to reform. The inebriate ' struck an attitude,' and exclaimed, ' Not that I love Sarah less; but rum more.'
