Original Correspondence.

To the Editor of the Lake Wakatip Mail. Sir,—ln your paper of date 26th September, an inaccurate statement was made in reference to the treatment of the unfortunate man M'llroy, before his admission to the Hospital. If I am informed correctly the poor fellow was fetting on well after he was brought to the fospital, and the haemorrhage which caused his death was produced by the bursting of some small vessels ; a result of undue exertion in pulling on bis boot. Unless bleeding was at first distinctly arterial, and from the large vessel, the surgeon would not have been justified in taking up the artery. I am, &c., Surgeon. Arrow, Sept. 28,1863. [The opinion expressed in the paper was that of a surgeon of experience in this district, and not ours.—Ed. W. M.] To the Editor of the Lake Wakatip Mail. Sib,—-Having occasion to seek legal advice and assistance in a case before the Magistrate here, and our Attorney General, Mr. Campbell, being retained against me, I called at the Camp Hotel and inquired for Mr. Wilson, who by his advertisement in your paper states he may be heard of there, but the reply I received was that Mr. Wilson was represented by a Mr. Shepherd as his clerk, and as I did not require his assistance, I have not the pleasure of knowing that gentleman. I write this hoping it may be considered worthy of a place to correct an error in your last Saturday's issue, stating Mr. Wilson, the solicitor of Dunedin, had arrived, which appears not to be the fact, and may mislead others as it did Your obedient servant, Pill Garlic. Queenstown, Sept. 25,1863.
