PUBLIC MEETING AT THE ARROW.
A meeting was held at the New Orleans Hotel, Arrow, on the 28th ult., for the purpose of forming a committee to advance the interests of the district and township. The following resolutions were carried:— I. " That a committee of 13 members be now chosen, to be called ' The Arrow Township Committee,' which shall be elected in the following manner Any member of this meeting may propose any one for election, and such member being seconded will be considered a candidate; each candidate's name to be taken down, and the election made by the votes of those present." 11. " That this committee when met to form a quorum. Its duties shall be to see to the interests of the township in the formation of roads, in petitioning Government for grants for same, and to take action in any matter which will be for the welfare of this township." 111. " That this meeting having resolved to form a committee, members eligible for election shall now be proposed and seconded, an 3 the secretary for the meeting shall receive the names of those who would be willing to act, so that the election may be made by vote." A committee was then elected, and, after a vote of thanks to the chairman, the meeting adjourned.
