, CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Canterbury croquet championships were continued . yesterday on the L rated Club’s greens at Hagley -Park, lhe open championship was won by A. Ross (United), who defeated H. J. Williams (Sumner) £6-1, 26-0, going out in four clean breaks a perfect exhibition. In tho first match, Rosa double peeled and finished. In tlw second, he treble peeled and liiusncd. The ladies championship was won by Mrs Beoniand (Edgeware), and the club pairs by H. J. ‘Williams and Mrs E. A. Jonnstou (Sumner). Club Pairs.—Final: Mrs E. A. Johnson and H. J. Williams (Sumner) defeated Miss Smith and S. M’Cullough (United), 26-19. . Canterbury Handicap.—Miss Gerard (3J bisques) beat E.- A, John sou, (3 bisques), 26-4; Mrs E. A. Johnson (J bisque) beat S. M’Cullough, 26-23. The semi-finals and the filial' will be played this morning.
