It is announced that a prominent Irish business man lias launched a fund for the relief of starvation in Ireland. The organisation is non-political and non-sectarian, and the work will be conducted along the lines of American relief work in Belgium. The co-opera-tion of tho American and British Governments is sofight. Mr Hoover lias been consulted and his advice promised. A sum of 300.000 dollars already has been subscribed.
