[Thom Our Correspondent.]
DUNEDIN, Daoember 27. Milling wheat is still in very short supply and relief is not expected until the new harvest is available. Millers would eagerly secure any lines ofiering. Present indications are that the crops will be early and now wheat should be* available in February. It is still impossible to secure fowl wheat at any price. The oat market shows no improvement, and merchants with stocks have had difficulty in finding an outlet. B grade Gartens arc quoted at 3s 3d to Sa 4d per bushel, f.0.b., s.i., for prompt delivery, but North island buyers show no interest. Statistics just issued show that there will he a fairly jheavv carry-over to next season. Millers ’prices are as follow: —Flour, £l7 per ton; 100’s, £lB 10s per ton; 50’s, £l9 per ton; 25’s, £2O per ton. Bran, £8 16s per ton. Pollard, £lO 15s per ton. Pearl barley, £35 per ton.
Oatmeal, £27 per ton. . There have been moderate consignments of chaff on the market, but feeders Seem to have sufficient stocks for present requirements and the demand has been weak. Further consignments are expected after the holidays, and prices may therefore be expected to eaBO. The present market value of good quality oatensheaf chaff is £7 5s to £7 10s per ton, sacks extra, ex-truck. Medium chaff is slow of sate at £6 to £7 per ton. Old potatoes are now off the market, and new are coming to hand in larger quantities. The demand" was keen during Christmas week.
