SICK BENEFIT SOCIETY. The annual meeting of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants' * Sick Benefit Society was held on Monday, Mr H. E. Stackhouse presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report, which was adopted, stated that the year had been a successful one. Sick pay am&unted to £3sl> 7s 3d (over £IOO less than' last year). The death benefit fund showed a credit balance of £1 19s lid. Tho membership at the beginning of the year was 326, and at the close 329, with also 37 superannuated members. The balancesheet of tho hospital fund showed a loss on the year's working of £7 3s 4d. Thirtythree members had passed through the Hospital during the year. The committee recommended that* the halanoe of £55 15s should be carried forward. Officers for the ensuing yeaT were elected as follow:—President, Mr J. G. Kettle; vicepresident, Mr C. S. Keech: secretary, Mr H. Chaplin; siok visitor, Mr J. T. Robbing; trustees, Messrs T. Thin and J. W. Toomey; auditors, Messrs E. Cameron and W. H. Burrell; provisional auditor, Mr H. E. Stackhouse; committees—shop*, Messrs J. W. Toomey and G. Turnbull; goods, Messrs T. Thin, H. E. Stackhouse and W. H. Burrell: traffic Messrs E. Hill, D. Bradley and D. Rouse. On behalf of the society, Mr Kettle presented the past chairman, Mr H. ,E. Stackhouse, with the society's medallion, Mr Stackhouse suitably responding.
