Tho ''Nichi-Nichi Shimbun" states that tho thirteenth Japanese division is at Nikolsk under orders to prepare for eventualities. Major-General' Shirafu, chief of the field •communications, has issued a general warning, addressed to Russians. against attempts to interfere with the communication svstem.
TOKIO, December 7. The Japanese War Office announced the seizure of documents purporting: to show that the Koreans in the Chintao district purchased a large amount _of supplies from tho Bolsheviks, including fifty machine-guns and throe thousand rifles. A considerable number of-these arms have been already captured from the Koreans. JAPANESE~REPRISAL^.
EXECUTIONS AND BURNINGS. (Received December 9, 10.5 p.m.) TOKIO, December 8. It is officially reported that armed bands of Korean malcontents were broken up in skirmishes near Shangtao. The Japaneso captured three machine guns and five hundred rifles. 'Reprisals! were carried out against a village where the inhabitants guided Japanese into an ambush. Seventy houses wero burned and a number of villagers shot. In another town on© hundred and thirty houses and several churches and schools were destroyed. Ninety persons were executed.
