ST JOHN AMBULANCE.

The Canterbury and "West Coast Centre of the St John Ambulance Association met last night, Colonel F. B. Creswell presiding over a good attendance. The treasurer (Mr C. J. Ronaldson) reported that the receipts (including £l5O withdrawn from the bank) were £263 IBs lOd, and expenditure £l6O 9s lid, leaving a credit balance of £lO3 5s lid. The Assistant-Director of Education wrote, in answer to a suggestion from tho Centre, that all teachers should be required to pass an examination in First Aid; that the subject would be taken into consideration when the proposed new regulations for the teachers’ examination were made. It was decided to recommend Dr E. Jennings, of Rotherham, for admission to the grade of an honorary serving brother, in recognition of hia services to the Centre.
