A. conference of the wheat-growers' of North end South Canterbury and North Otago, at which thirty persons were present, was bold here this afternoon at the instance of iho president of the New Zealand Farmers Union. The conference decided to ask tho Minister of Agriculture to call a conference in January to deoido the price of thm season's crop, and in regard to tho 1921--.2 crop Asked that the present system of control should lie continued provided a satisfactory minimum is guaranteed. January conference. It wan decided to recommend the Government to undertake tile purchase and distribution of under-grade wheat. It was also decided to draw the- attention of the Government to the need for more trucks to carry harvest produce.
