England gave Queensland a hard day's leather-hunting, the visitors piling up 233 more than the homo side. Russell ran up a splendid 73, but the feature of the day's batting was the two and a half hours' partnership of Bhodes and Douglas, yielding 174. Rhodes played steady, patient cricket for rive hours.
