BOXING.

THE CLABBY SUSPENSION. TTPHELD BY NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. A onecial meeting of tho Council of th« New Zealand Boxing Association was held on Friday for the purposo of considering tho appeal of J. Clabby against his susponsion by tho Wauganui Boxing Association for failing to keep his agreement to box Holland under the auspices of the association.

All members of tho council wcto present, and Mr H. M. Campbell, M.P., prosident of the council, presided. The wholo of tho corresnondence dealing: with the case was read hv the council secretary, together with Clabby's appeal against the suspension. The following resolution was unanimously carried:—"That after further consideration of all documents this council confirms tho AVanganui Association'ii suspension of J. Clabby for six months from July 20, 1920." Tho application of tho Northern Boxing Association to match G. Venn (holder) and F. Kcenan for tho light-weight championship was granted. The TaTannki Centre recommended the affiliation of the Eltham Association. Thiß was nrroed to.

At tho conclusion of the meeting Mr A. R. Kirk expressed the pleasure of tho council at meeting tho president, «ind tho hopo that Mr Campbell would be ablo to attend future meetings of tfio council. Mr Campbell sajd hrs would endeavour to do 00, but as Hawke'n Bay was a long way from Christchurch, it mlr»ht bo impossible for him to attend a meeting which thi» council might find it necessarr to call at short notice. He would, however, endeavour to bo present on any occasion when other than routine business was to be dealt with. Tho council was a v«rv responsible hody. and hrt was satisfied that it should he given larger powers, particularly in the matter of thi> formation of now associations in the smaller districts. He was pleased to meet, tli4 members of tho council, and hoped to preside at other meetings.
