"During the past fortnight the MarshlandSlairiLan Cycling Ciub n»» held two road races. The first, held on November 18. over a course about tea miles, resulted.as follows: L. E. Porter, r.t. 24min 52500, 1; H. Paulkiner, r.t, 21min B2j!aoo 9; R. Chamberlain, r.t. 26min 9seo, 3. Fastest time, unplaced rider, P. O’Shea, r.t. 23min ISsco. It was also decided that until further notice raoea would ho started at 6.30 p.m., instead of 6, p.m. A Derby Race for youths under eighteen years of age is to be held on Tlccembor 14, The course will be twice round the Msireh.au block, about ton miles. Good prizes are offered, amongst them being a gold medal for first man past the poet, given by Mr W. J. Walter, and prizes p’reßented by Messrs P O’Shea and A. Bonis.
