PIGEON FLYING.
The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club Sew % race from Marton last Saturday, ninety seven birds competing, belonging to nineteen owners. The birds were liberated by tho station master at 7.30 a.m., in fine weather and a sou’-west wind _ The winner was F Kingsfnrd’s Mirror, which flew the dis lance of 28-1 miles 1597 yards air line ill 9hr Bmin 21eec. The following is the velocity recorded by each owner’s birdF. Kingsford’s Mirror 914yds per minute; B. Dmnegan’s Good Mealy, 913yds ; W. Terry s SuWallo, 908yds; F.
