The first rounds of the Sumner Bowling Club championship doubles and rinks were concluded last night, with the following resuits;—* • ■* ’ ’ Doubles— Crawford and Raphael defeated Gardiner and Wagborn; Barlow and Qtafflbora beat Hadfleld and Hampton; GOesOt and Malpas won from M’Arthur and Booth; Illingworth and Middleton defeated MaddF bon and Johnson; Cooper and Mitchell" beat Wallace and Bruce; Heslop and Hanley “defeated Marrio and Smithson. Rinks—Marrie Wallace, MaddiMn and ,K; A. Johnson (s) defeated Gardiner, Gosset, T W. Johnson and Bruce (s); Illingworth, Malpas, Heslop and Henley (a) defeated East, Middleton, Roberts «nd Raphael (S)'; Cooper, Chambers, Barlow and Mitchell (s) defeated Booth, Hadfleld, Hampton and Smithson (s). SUMNER v. ISLINGTON. Four doubles from the Sumner club visited the Islington green yesterday and defeated the home players by nine points.
