Tudor moved in accordance with Mr Hughes's Bendigo pledge of 1919, that the Government should Immediate effect to the basio wage finding. He stated that Borne Industries were already paying the wage. From 1913 to 1918 production had increased by £64,000,000, but wages by only £4,600,000, or 7 to 8 per cent. While the workers received only £4,600,000 increase the manufacturers had received £9,000,000 profit. The debate was adjourned.
