BASIC WAGE.
REPORT OF FEDERAL COMMISSION. AN ENORMOUS INCREASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. -Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. MELBOURNE, November 23. The Federal Basio Wage Commission has recommended the following rates:—
Mr Hughes declined to comment on the report, but informed his supporters that the wages bill of the Commonwealth would be increased from £70.000,000 to £100,000,000 a yeai. The report was unanimous, the employers’ representatives dissenting mi minor matters only.
