LOAN AND MERCANTILE RETORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received a cablegram from London, under date October 0, quoting the present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow:—Fine mutton 78s 6d, good beof 70s, mixed 60s Gd per owt. TheTo is a good demand for the best sorts. DALGETY’S REPORT. Messrs Dnlgety and Co., Ltd., have received from their London office, under date October 6, advico that at the weekly aue.tiona 1815 casks of tallow wero offered and 1445 sold. Prices ruled at technical rates to Is dearer. Competition tvas limited. Thero was a good demand for edible descriptions. Prime mutton is quoted at 81s, and priuio beef 90s per cwt. BOOTH AND CO.’S REPORT. Messrs Booth and Co.’s London house cabled under date October 6 that at the tallow sales held that day there was an improved tone to the market. Values advanced on an average £1 per fon. Tho offerings were 1257 e-kc. of which 1437 were sold.
