Air Walter Alonk, touring manager for J. C. Williamson, Ltd., has arrived in Christchurch to make arrangements for tho forthcoming season of “ Tilly of Bloomsbury.”
Air G. P. Bell has received notice of his transfer from the Rnkaia branch of tho Bank of New Zealand to the Dunedin branch. Air S. Paismith, of Dunedin, will fill tho vacancy at Rakaia. Major W. A. G. Penlington, Instructor in Vocational Training, arrived in Christchurch from Dunedin last mgnt. He will spoud several days in Christchurch, and will visit the soldiers’ institutions at Hanmer early next week.
Tho sudden death of Air Gerald Morris, head master of Little River School was referred to at yesterday’s meeting of the Canterbury Education Board. A vote of sympathy with the relatives was agreed to, in silence, all standing.
Mr Stuart Seddon. son of the late Air it. J. Seddon, was a passenger by tho Niagara on Wednesday morning from Vancouver. He was met on his urrival by Mr T. E. Y. Seddou, AI.P. Mr Stuart Seddon served with tho New Zealand Expeditionary Force in Samoa, and after returning to tho Dominion he went to England, where he joined tho Royal Air Force. After gaining his wings ho went to France, and served on the Western front, including th© first battle of the Sommo and a long spell in Flanders. Subsequently he was sent to Italy, and served cm tho Piavo and Asiago. Lieutenant Seddon Avas still on active service Avhen tho armistice was signed.
