A MEAT FAMINE.

POSITION IN SYDNEY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 14, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. Juno 14. Sydney is now faced by n meat famine. Inquiries have been made for supplies of mutton from New Zealand, but an obstacle in the way is the import duty of threepence per pound, which puts the article out of reach unless the Federal Government can be persuaded to suspend the duty. No difficulty is anticipated in securing the suspension.
