The Spring* County Council wrote asking’ the oouncil to repair the upproaokes to tlio motor bridges on tho Alain South Road, botaeon Kolieston and Burnham. Hie Christchurch City Council wrote regarding tho control of Park roads. A mo-v t.on wa-s passed asking the city to take control, as agreed upon at a meeting of delegates. The council, however, still considered that it was unduly taxed in tho matter. The Automobilo Association wrote concerning a proposal to shorten Suckling’s bridge; also with regard to tho rounding off of AValInce’s Corner, Ttti Tapu. It was decided to replv that the council had proceeded ns far as possiblo at AVallnce’s Corner. AVhen tho Drainage Board cleaned its pipes tlio corner would bo completed. Tbo council endorsed the proposal to shorten Suckling’s Bridge. A deputation from the South AVaima.tariri River Board, consisting of Messrs H. E. Peiyiuan, Opio, Scarvell and Johnston ■waited on the board to discuss tho matter of the Annual water-race charges. Tt- wan decided to obtain further legal advice on the matter. ...... Notice of motion for general rates, ior tne current year wa-s given, being a general increase of three-sixteenths of a penny m the pound over tho rates previously struck. Tho Hospital Bonrd forwarded statements allowin'* the maintenance requirements, with a, marked increase over th© previous year, the Paparua Countv Council contribution being now risen to £lßll.
