INFLUENZA.
SATISFACTORY REPORTS. Seventeen miLld ca;ses of. ijnflueusa were notified to tho District Health Offico for the twenty-four hours ended at noon yesterday, North Canterbury supplying 15 and South Canterbury 2. Dr Telford, on being interviewed, stated that the decrease in the notifications continued and the position was satisfactory. Apparently the recent congestions of the public bad not hud the effect of spreading the disease. Of the cases notified, Kaikoura and Reefton were well represented, the outbreak in the former place being mainly among Maoris. Fortunately all the cases are mild. At the Christchurch Hospital for the twenty-four hours ended at noon yesterday the following were the influenza statistics:—Mild cases 25, severe 5, admission 1, deaths nil. 81-WEEKLY BULLETIN. The bi-weekly influenza bulletin to noon yesterday showed the following cases:— North Canterbury, 38 mild, 2 pneumonic, namely, Christchurch 12 mild, 1 pneumonic; Lyttelton 4 mild, 1 pneumonic; Swannanoa 1, Stunner 3, New Brighton 5, Kaikoura 7, Amberley 1, all mild. South Canterbury, 13 mild, namely, Orari 5, Geraldine 5, Arundel 2, Woodbury 1. Buller, 4 mild. Inangahua, 7 mild. Other- districts, nil. Total, 57 mild, 2 pneumonic.
