ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. . The Council of tho Canterbury Acclimatisation Society met last night. Mr E. F. Stead presided over an attendance of cloven members. The following officers were elected:—President, Dr C. M l . Anderson; vice-presidents. Messrs M. H. Godby and Stead; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. W. Horvey; Gardens Committee, Messrs L. A. Shand, E. F. Dorman, N. T. Billena, H. Anderson and F. Moorhouse, tho committee to appoint another member; Deer Committee, Messrs Dorman. E. B. Rimington, E. M. Caffon, G. Gerard. K. Murchison, J. H. C. -Bond and Sir R Heaton Rhodes; Sclwyn Committee, Messrs Moorhouse, H. Anderson, H. Mulholland and F. W. Woodward; executive, Dr Anderson, Professor T. G. R. Blunt and Messrs C. R. Clark, Stead and Shand; supernumerary-mem-bers, Messrs W. Scott. D. N,immo Scott, W. Deans, D. Blake and J. Fuller. The Minister of Internal Affairs wrote stating that he could not reverse his decision not to alter regulations against the uso of small boxes for shooting birds, unless the request for alteration came from the Acclimatisation Societies’ Conference. It was decided to write Mr M. C. Yale. Kaikoura, askine if any licenses to tsh had been issued in Kaikoura last year, and if so by The secretary reported a credit balanoe of £278 2s Bd.
