DISTINCTIVE DECORATIONS OF MESSRS J. BALLANTYNE AND CO. During the Peace celebrations tha firm of J. Ballantyne and Co. used tlie Flags of. the rallies as the motif of their decorations, and a somewhat similar scheme of decorations is being used to welcome tho Prince, only flags of tlie Empire are substituted for those of the Allies. As the flags are authentic, our readers will be interested in a description of their order of display. Commencing at the Cashel Street end of Messrs Bnllantyne and Co.’s premises, and working round to the Colombo Street end of their buildings, the flags hung on the top poles are as follow: New Zealand, Australian, Union Jack, Canadian and Scottish. From the windows, in the same order, the Crosa of St George, Union Jack, Irish, Union Jack and New Zealand; while from the verandah, commencing at the Cashel' Street end. the following flags aro hung : —New Zealand, Union Jack, Canadian, New Zealand, the Cross of St Patrick.
