PARISH MEETINGS.
At the annuil meeting of parishioners of St John's, Riccarton, tho Yen. Archdeacon HaggiM prosided, in the unavoidable absence of tho vicar (Rev G. VT. Christian). There wan a good attendance, and the ladies exercised thoir Tight to vote for tho first timo. The churchwardens' report and were presented and adopted, the balancesheet showing a doficicucy in the general account of £36 IS.S Gd. this being tho first time,in ths history, of the parish that there has been a debit balance. Sir H. E. Jarman, honorary treasurer of the church building fund, reported that tho cash in hand and promisee for tho new church amounted to .-C1415 12s lOd. The vicar nominated Jtr F. R. Candy a a Ms warden, and Mr H. M. Bannohr was appointed people's -warden. The following were eleated as », vestry:-—Messrs H. 11. Fisher, H. Graham, R. L. Gray, R. Musgrave, J. Robinson, J. Terapleton, A. W Tucker, W. A. B Morton, W. S. S. Cantroll «.nd T. M\ Ford. Mr R. T. Toswell was appointed auditor. A voto of thanks was accorded tho Vcn Archdeacon Gossetfc for his assistance during tho vicar's iilnes-a.
