OBITUARY.
SAMUEL J. PRICE. • The late Mr Samuel J. Price, who died suddenly at his residence, at Tompleton, was well known and very highly respected by a large number of people with whom ho came in contact in tho different districts in which he had resided. He was born at Glentunnel in 187 G and was employed in the Government service for 23 years, being for fivo years at tho Mental Hospitals at Spreydon , and Porirua, and for eighteen years in the prison service, being, stationed at Dunedjn and Lyttelton, and for tho past three years employed as clerk of tho Paparua prison, at Templeton. He was a great favourite with all who had the privilege of knowing him, and was greatly respected and esteemed for his many kindly actions and sterling qualities. He leaves a widow and six children. Tho funeral took place at Darfiold, the burial service being conducted by tho Rev Father Hanrahan in tho presence of a large number of friends and relatives. The pall-bearers were the- officers ?f tho Paparua prison staff*
