PETROL CONTROL

■"SEVERE RESTRICTIONS. ! Under the Government control of petrol distribution which has just been ■decided on a Christchurch petrol committee has been set up, consisting of Messrs H. J. Ranger (chairman), F. W. Partridge, S. Paterson, F. M. 'Collins and A. Larcombe. The committee desires to impress upon all consumers that the Board of Trade regulations will be enforced, and that everybody requiring petrol in quantities, small or great, will have to sign a declaration on a form provided by the board, and failure to do so will entail a .heavy penalty. A shipment of 35,000 cases of petrol, ex Waihemo, is now at Lyttelton, and two other shipments are in sight. The petrol will be distributed according to regulations, and it is stated that there should ba no shortage.
