Mr M’Adoo suggests that tho United States should puiciiase British possessions on the Atlantic coast, including tho Bahamas, Bermudas and Jamaica, giving Britain credit for them against a war debt of £4,2(57,003,000. The prohibitionists support the proposal, liecause Americans are flocking to those islands. British circles view tho idem with little favour. They point out that British pride is an insuperable obstacle to its acceptance. ______________
