WAR MEMORIAL
ANATTONAL MOVEMENT.

WELLINGTON, February 17.
The National War Memorial Committee decided that -the site for the memorial should be in Wellington. It also resolved that the memorial should be so designed' as to embody the objects and sacrifices of the war and the virtues displayed therein, in such a way that they will he an education and inspiration not only to the present but to future generations, and so be of immense .influence in the formation of the New Zealand national character.
The committee at present consists of Sir Jamea Allen, the Hon J. G. Coates, Dr Potnare, Mr O. J. Parr, Mr J P. Luke, Mr L. M Isitt, Mr Downie Stewart, Mr T, Y. Seddon and Mr E. Newman. It avos agreed to strengthen it by four members to be nominated by the Mayor of Wellington. The details are not yet decided, bub it is possible that competitive designs may he called for from architects and artists.
