OXFORD. A meeting of the genera! committee of the Oxford Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the Coronation Hall on Saturday. Tho president (Mr A. Meyers) presided, and there were also present: Messrs D. Hawke, B. Davis. J. T. Crov, P\ Jf. Thompson, W. Hyde, 9. M'Grath, J. Budge, E. Skurr. J. T. Perham, C. Foary and W. J. Reed. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs T. Horn and T. fmsor. Resolutions were received from Feilding ae follows:—(1) "That this meeting calls on the New Zealand Government to urge on tho British Government tho serious position that will arise in this Dominion with the lifting of the requisition of meat and to impress upon tho Imperial Government tho nooessity of clearing the meat from New Zealand stores at the end of their contract, or to continue the purchase until such.tinio

as they are able to do bo, and to announce at the earliest possible moment how they will meet the position whioh will arise in June noxt." (2) " 'i'hat this meeting urges upon the Government' the advisability of sending to England at the earliest possible date tho commission as constituted—namely, i)r Beakee, Messrs Poison, Burrell and Jones—lor tho purpose oi assisting tho Government to solve the disposal of our meat." The resolutions were unanimously endorsed. A letter from the Marlborough 'Woolsrowore' Association protesting against the perpetuation of the " draft on wool," and afiJcintf for the association's co-operation in bringing aoout its removal, was received anu approved. The president and secretary were appointed to inspect too assaoeiatfou's cottage with a view to seoiiif; what repairs were necessary, with power to effect such repairs. _ The Canterbury br&ifjh of the New Zealand Militing .shorthorn Association -wrote offering a series .of prizes for cattle registered in the lN'ew Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association's Herd, Book, provided classes were placed in \he schedule under this head. The offer-was accepted, and the secretary's action in, putting- the classes on the schedule was approved. In the discussion on the schedule which is now on issue it was pointed out that, while in the 1912 there were but nine classes in tho cattle section, in the TJ2O schedule the number had increased to 40. Tho annual report of the Board of Agriculture was received. Mr ft. F. Henderson was appointed treasurer during the absence of Mr H. 0. Wilson. It was decided to have a publican's booth, that the W.C.T.TL bo again asked to cater for the luncheon; Mrs F. Blair be asked to take the soft drinks and fruit stall; and that tho Oxford , Band be engaged lor Aow I aay. The following were elected members of . the . association:—Mrs J. Budge, Mrs 'T. Inch, Miss J. Winter, Messrs H. Francis, 3am. Giew, W. B. Glass, H. Coombos, D. Loft, E. J. M'Adam, G. H. Askew and Harloy Feary. Messrs K. Skurr, D. Hawke and the secretary were appointed a deputation to confer with the district railway engineer ..with reference to unloading facilities at the show grounds. it was decided to put the permanent sheep yards in hand at once. Class stewards for tho respective sections were appointed as follows:—Draught horses, Messrs J. Budge, E. J. Gurnsey and G. Thomson; li£iit horses, Messrs F, Wotherspoon. T. Blair and D. J. Eyde; grain and seeds, Messrs JV Cross and T. Powoll; roots, Messrs It. E.- Judson. A. Baxter, T. Som and H. G. Cross; house and dairy, Messrs A. H. Scott, R. Winter and E. Lassen, Mrs H.
