TRAMWAY BOARD.
The Christchurch Tramway Board met yesterday afternoon; present—Hon J. Barr (chairman) and Messrs T. H. Davey\ S. A. Staples. D. Sykes, 'J. Wood. A. S. Taylor, G. T. Booth,'H. Peafce and W. J. Walter. . Matters in connection with the tramway loan and proposed works were considered in committee.
The chairman, referring in op,en hoard to tho tramway loans poll, stated that the result must, be considered very satisfactory. The way was now clear for operations to bo commenced. Urgent work would be put in hand at once, including the erection of the new workshops', which was an important tindertaking. The Heathcote County Council wrote asking- the board to assist in the erection of shelters at Sandilands and Heathcote bridge. The board agreed to co-oporato with tho council and tj pay half cost (£2O) in tho case of tho Heathcote bridge shelter. Tho North Beach Gala Committee and th© Christchurch Hogntta Club wrote in regard to bonuses on additional traffic receipts in connection with the gala and regatta. Tho general manager reported that there had been an increase in tho traffic returns for the regatta at Bsdcliffs. It was decided to refer the requests to the ' Works and Tralfic Commitloe. Mr J. A. Frostick was re-nominated to act on the Tramway Appeal Board,
