Fine and medium cross-breds were firm and were chiefly bought for the Lome trade, Shabby Borts wore- withdrawn. Slipos and scoureds aj:e unchanged. TALLOW. At the tallow sales 1461 oasks were offered, and 667 were sold, mostly at a decline of about 6d. Fine mutton reached 100 s, medium 104 s; fine beef USs 6d, medium 102 s.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, Christchurch, have received the following cable message from their London office, dated February 11:—At the_ weekly auction/*, 1470 casks tallow were offered, end 510 sold. Limited demand at unchanged prices. The New Zealand Loaori and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. has received the following cablegram from London, dated February 10: —Wool sales opened. Good merino shows an upward tendency. Others 5 per cent lower. Market firm for fin* cross-bred, others neglected.
