Owing to the inferior steaming qualities of a trial quantity of coal which she took on board yesterday morning, the Maori was unablo to leave for Wellington last evening, her departure being postponed until four 1 clock this morning. The Shaw, Sayill and Albion Company, .igents for the Liberty, received advice yesterday that the vessel will probably be dispatched for Lyttelton to-day. The Ruapehu was further delayed at Wel.ington on Wednesday, and, according to advice received by Messrs Kinsey ano Co., Ltd., her unloading agents, she should arrive iu port this morning. The Breeze, on finishing the replenishing of her bunkers yesterday morning, sailed for Picton and Wanganui. from which latter port die will proceed to Greymouth to load coal for Timaru. The Kurow arrived in the stream from Newcastle yesterday morning early, and after being granted pratique was berthed. She has 1000 tons of coal from Newcastle for the Union Company's hulks and 200 tons of steel rails for the Railway Dopartmenr. She experienced a rough trip across the Tasman Se*. The Kowhai, laden with timber from Greymouth, should arrive here this morning. The Koromiko left Newcastle on Tuesday with a full cargo of coal for this port, and should reach here early next week—probably on Monday. The Paloona, in command of Captain J. Doorly, R.N.R., left Wellington on Wednesday for Melbourne. The Kokiri was dispatched from Westport with a part cargo of coal and timber for Lyttelton. Captain Bold has resumed command of the Komata, vice Captain Brace, who has transferred to the Kini. . On Saturday afternoon the Swallow, formerly a dredgo at Sydney, sailed from that ' port for Wellington with timber and general cargo. She is flue there en Friday. On discharging the vessel will go to Greymouth to load timber for Sydney. The Matatua is due at Wellington from Sydney on Tuesday next. The vessel will load at Wellington and Lyttolton for Homo ports. The Kauri has left Melbourne for a New Zealand port with a cargo of wheat. The Athcnic, according to time-table, was uspatched from London on Wednesday for v'ellington. The lonic has arrived at Southampton from New Zealand.
