PROGRESS OP ARRANGEMENTS. Mr J. B. Laurenson, secretary of the Canterbury Industrial Association, has received a letter from the Prime Minister, stating that ho will bring the question of holding an industrial exhibition in Christchurch before Cabinet at an early dato, and that he will communicate with Mr Laurenson as soon as a. decision is arrived at. At a meeting of tho executive of tho Industrial Association last night, Mr Laurenson stated that tho Prime Minister's letter and other communications would be placed before a combined meeting of representatives of several organisations this week. Mr G. "Whites urged that arrangements for the exhibition should be put in hand at once. Ho said that delay might prejudice the success, of the undertaking. Mr A. P. Drayton said that the Chamber of Commerce should bo asked to unite with the association in arranging for the exhibition. The chamber represented the commercial life of the «ty.. ' .
