RANGIORA. There was an entry of 6214-sheep at the Rangiora yards yesterday, of which 2876 were fats, the bulk of which were lambs. Most of the freezing company buyers began their season's operations. ASHBURTON. The entry of fat sheep and lambs at the Tmwald yards yesterday totalled a little over Freezing buyers -were operating freely, bidding was keen all through, and! good prices were realised. Prime wethers brought up to 87s 6d, second quality Sis 9d to 33a 2d, medium quality 26s ttOd to 39s I<J, prime ewes to 84s 9d, second quality 30s 9d to 32s 6d, medium 26s 3d to 295, extra prime lambs to 83s, prime lambs 30s to 31s id, medium quality 23s to 27s 3d. The principal sales were:—"Wethers—l6 at 24s 9d, 12 at 37a ed 20 at 345, 20 at' 28s Id, 82 at 82s 10d' 19 at C6s 66!, 20 at 2Ss, 75 at 33« 2d 12 at Sis 9dy 140 at S3s Id. There was an unusually big yarding of cattle, principally stores in rather low condition. Fat stcors brought from £ll 10s to £l7 5s and £l7 15s, fat heifers £l3 5s to £ls, fat cows £lO to £l2. Thore was only a limited demand for stores, and the majority of those offered were passed at .suction. A line of yearling steons brought £3 a head, cows witJi calves at foot £9.
