Official news from Waziristan shows that the British troops encountered stubborn resistance from the Mahsuds at Wana and the Wazirs. In capturing hills in the neighbourhood of Mandanna and Kach the 67th Brigade had heavy fighting on December 19 and December 20, and only on the following day succeeded in attaining their objective. The casualties as a result of this engagement are 200, including sixteen British officers.
