The Commissioner has commenced hearing tho evidence in the charges against Judge Bovau, Mr Carey and Dr GihMth (former Administrator), _ that they were all interested in a mine at Daley River, of which the lease was granted by Dr Gilruth, and that land at Daley River was demanded for Judge Bevan and Dr Gilruth, who are the real owners; that they shook" the confidence of the people of the territory to such an extent as to cause the recent trouble. Dr Gilruth and Mr Carey axe also charged with being pre?ared to give improper consideration to ho firm of Vestey’s to enablo them to sell their meat worlcß to the Government.
