A sub-committee of the Treasury on currency and foreign exchange is investigating the effect of any change in British silver coinage in connection witkt he rise in the price of silver, and is discussing whether it should adopt notes below r five shillings., or increase the alloy in silver coins. The committee suggests that as recoining w T ould he a big job for Britain, perhaps tbo Aua* tralian mints might assist. 1
