SAILING AND POWER BOAT CLUB. The Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club opened its. season at Redclifls, on Sa declaring the season open, the deputyMavor (Mr J. W. Beanland) congratulated on carrying on so that the members who went away to the war could have someThing to return to. About forty members had volunteered, and twelve of them would not return. Several members had enhsted in the Motor Boat Patrol. Mr Beanland appealed to the young members to rely round the club and help to make it the suecess it was in the old days. He wished the club every success. • Mr T. L. Robinson was commodore, Mr A. Edmonds vioe-commodore, and Mr J. D. M’Coll secretary. Results

SUMNER ROWING CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Sumner Rowing Club was presided over by the captain, Mr A. Barr. The question of the renewal of the staging was discussed, and it was left to the secretary to inquire into ■me cost of the scheme submitted by Messrs H. 0. S. Jamieson and C. Dawe, and also to go into an alternative scheme if nocess-ary. Arrangements were made for a working bee to meet at the shed and repair all boats. It was decided to approach the council with a view to the installation of electric lighting in the shed, in which, for the future, it was proposed to hold all olub meetings. The question of opening day was left over till oortsin repairs had been effected.
