ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The annual winding-up social and presentation of trophies in connection with the Canterbury Football Association was held in the Y.M.G.A. concert hall last evening, Mr R. B. Bunt, chairman of the Management Committee of the association, presiding over an attendance of abiut 150 members. Tho foil'-wing trophies were presented during the evening: The Hnr’ey Shield, to the. Linwood team, winner of tho Senior competition; Tho English Cup, to the Nomads Senior team; The Ramsey Cup, to the Excelsior (Junior) team; The Watson Cup, to tho Excelsior third grade team; The W’ ite Cup, to the Boys’ Gordon Hall th'-d evade team. Tho cups were presented by Messrs R B. Bunt, C. H. Bascand, G. AV. Bagrie, E. J. Norman and \\ r . Ramsey A vote of t,banks was carried with acclamation to the Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen's Association for its assistance to the association during tho year. Mr A. G. Sherwood responded on bohali of tho Commercial Travellers’ Association. Items were rendered during tho evening by Messrs Rodda. Gallop and Coates, uno an address to the younger mombers present was given by Mr R. R. Hartwell, of Melbourne, a vice-president of the Linwood Football Club. At tho conclusion of the gathering, refreshments were dispensed by Misses G. Hastings, E. Bennetts, E. Bascand and B. Sycamore.

The Waiwera is expected to leave Wellington to-day for London via Panama. Tho Canopus, from Westport, is duo this morning. The Baden Powell finished her loading and overhauling yesterday, and sailed shortly after noon for AVellington and New Plymouth. From Oamaru, the Calm is expected here to-morrow to load for Wellington and Wanganui. The Breeze, from Dunedin, via Timaru, is duo this morning. This evening ahe should sail for Picton, and from there to AVauganui. Tho Wakatn was delayed at AVellington on Monday and could not sail as expected. She is duo here this evening, and should leave on tho return trip to-morrow evening. Tho AVhangape is to make a trip from Auckland to the Eastern Pacific Islands shortly. The Ayrshire is to leave AVellington today for Auckland and Sydney to complete her discharging of Home cargo. From Sydney she trill return to Auckland to commence loading for Liverpool. She will also pick up cargo at Whakatane and Tokomaru Bay. Later 6hc will call at AVellington to replenish her bunkers before making her departure for Liverpool. The Chatham Island Fishing Company has engaged the Kahu for a trip to tho Chathams on Octobor 13. Tho Monica, which is due at Dnnedin this week, is to discharge, and afterwards will probably be dry-docked at Port Chalmers for refitting. Tbe Atua is due at Auckland on October 13 with a load of sugar from Fiji. On discharging she will eail for Sydney with passe ngors. The AVaitemata finished her discharging of Indian cargo last evening and sailed for Dnnedin. It is expected that the vessel will lay up at Dunedin to undergo an overhauling and cleaning. The Koromiko, with a full cargo of coal from Newcastle, te duo hore about Monday next. Tho East Coast steamer Mokoia has been delayed by rain at Auckland, and is not now expected to leave for Gisborne Napier, AVellington and Dunedin until to-morrow. Tho Manuka had a fairly rough passage on her way south on Monday night until she passed tho Kaikouras. She did not arrive in Lyttelton until 10.10 a.m. She brought a largo number of passengers ex tho Maheno, and to supply all the demands a number of shakedowns had to bo mado. A number of intending passengers to Lyttelton bad to be loft behind at Wellington. The Monowai, provided tho weather does not intortore with her unloading and loading operations at Dunedin, is duo back on Friday. She will leave the same day for AVe’ling'on and East Coast ports. Tho Neakuia will leave to-day ot noon for Groymouth, where sho will load for Wellin'rton. Tho Kamo is expected to leave Greymouth on Saturday with a cargo of coal and timber tor Lyttelton. Tho Knmona loft Westport yesterday morning for Lyttelton with a cargo of coal. She should arrive horo to-morrow. The To Anau, according to latest advice received bv tho Union Company, is timed to leave AVeßina-ten at noon to-day, and should arrive here to-morrow. The Port Hacking was urab'e to complete her loading last evening, and consoonently will not bo able to leave for AVellington until this evening. The Storm, from Wanganui direct is amongst the expected arrivals to-dav. The Koromiko has arrived at Newcastle from Lyttelton to load ooai for this port. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. AUCKLAND, Octobor 7.
