Mr Young suggested to the Prime Minister to-day that in view of the altered electoral boundaries and tho importance of having complete rolls, he should give consideration to requests to have the rolls reprinted. Air Massey promised to consult on tho subject with the head of tho Electoral Department, to see what could be done,. He was exceedingly anxious to havo clean rolls, and would leave nothing undone to get it effected. The leader of tho Opposition asked if tho Prime Minister would introduce an amendment to the electoral law with the object of making provision to enablo wives, whom returned soldiers had brought home, to vote at the general election, otherwise many of these wives would not bo able to exercise the vote.
The Prime Aitnistor replied that there would bo an amendment of tho electoral law, but the point raised by the leader of the Opposition had not been considered by Cabinet. It would he for the Government, and afterwards for Parliament, to say whether these ladies should ho allowed to vote before they had been in tho country twelve months, which was the time fixed by the present law.
