FURTHER CHARGES.
THE H'CREADY CASE. [Per Press Association.] WHAKA'EANE. October 2. Pri""ate M'Cread.y contends that he was not given a fair opportunity of conducting his case. He alleges, that he was summoned to report at Whangarei for the inquiry at short notice, and that nil witnesses were selected by the Government while he was not invited to call any, and had no opportunity or doing so. Ho asserts that he was refused the assistance of a lawyer although a member of the Court was a lawyer. M'Croady states that a doctors letter informed the camp captain that ho must be hurried to Auckland for treatment,' or he would be disabled for life. M'Cready repeats that the injurv which incapacitated him was received at Camp. The secretary of the Returned Soldiers' Association, after hearing M'Cready's statement, has applied for a full report of the inquiry with a view to asking for a rehearing.
