STORMY WEATHER.
OUTLOOK IN HAWKE’S BAY. [Per Press Association.] NAPIER, August 1. After ten days’ stormy weather, during which 3.33 inches of rain fell, the rivers rose rapidly yesterday. A considerable amount of water overflowed on the low-lying country between Napier, Meeaneo and Pakowhai, but tho rivers fell considerably during the night. The danger of a serious flood lias been averted for the present. Tho sea lias moderated considerably. The Arahura berthed this morning, and the Taravera anchored off the breakwater. So far no stock losses aro reportedThe weather is still threatening.
