SHEEP SALES.

(Received July 7, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 7. Influenza and the shipping strike seriously effected the sheop sales. Although the qualify was good, many lots, including Now Zealand and Taamonian, were unable to eomo forward. Bidding whs woak and prices were low. A Hadden Rig stud ram and Cnnowie ram fetched 410 gs each.
HEMP MARKET. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 7,
Tho Dopartmont of Agriculture has received tho Jollowing cablegram, dated July 6, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London: “ Tho manila market is firm, with a moderate demand for J grado afloat. Tho current spot quotation for hemp is £55 per ton. For shipments to be hero in July, August, or Soptembor tho quotation is £54 15s. For Now Zealand hemp the market is ciuiet. Quantities landed and on tho way have boen contracted for at lato maximum prices, affecting tho demand. Thoro is fair inquiry for forward shipments at about £sl 103 to £62 for high points.”
