SsA6T WEEK’S SICKNESS

The following cases of sickness were reported to Dr H. Chesson, District Health Officer, in Christchurch for the week ended noon yesterday : Westland —Enterio fever 1. Grey —Diphtheria, 1; lethargic encephalitis, i. North Canterbury—Scarlet fever. 3 J diphtheria, 3; tuberculosis, 2; puerperal fever, 1; pneumonia, 5 ; influenza, 10. Ashburton —Lethargic encephalitis, 1 ; influenza, 2. South Canterbury—Scarlet fever, 1; diphtheria, 4; tuberculosis, 1; influenza, 3. The following cases of influenza were reported from 2 -p.m. on Thursday' last to noon yesterday:— North Canterbury—4 cases, 3 mild, one pneumonic at Lyttelton ; one death in Christchurch Hospital. South Canterbury—2 mild cases.
