NO CREW FOR MANUKA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian r.nd N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, July 7. All efforts to secure a crew for the Manuka have failedMANUKA WILL SAIL. (Received July 7, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 7. It was stated at the Union Company’s office to-day that the Manuka will sail to-morrow as arranged, with three hundred stranded New Zealanders. RELIEVING DISTRESS. MELBOURNE, July 7The Hon W. A. Watt announced that tho Federal Government had prepared a comprehensive scheme for the relief of distress caused by unemployment, as a result of the seamen’s strike, as peace thanksgiving cannot be sincerely and universally observed under the present conditions. NO SETTLEMENT REACHED. MELBOURNE, July 7. The shipping strike conference failed to reach a settlement.
